Broad ledge

Storm landed, exausted, on the ledge. Wings carefully outstretched, she lay there waiting for Polaris.

In a split second, a wolf appeared behind Storm. He hadn't been there before.
The sun shone directly onto his coat, making it shine like silk. He looked very striking. His fur was coloured like a male peacock; rich royal blue fur with green speckles on his back legs, a green tail covered with beautiful sky blue swirls, and sky blue sock-like markings on each of his paws. His wings looked like the outspread tail of a peacock, a green colour the same as his tail, covered with beautiful sky blue and royal blue markings. His eyes were black and seemed to hold a warm, inquisitive look. He seemed to be a young adult.
He gently laid a paw on Stormcloud's back.
"What are you doing here?" he asked in a soft, gentle voice.

"I'm running away from the enemy of the Dusk Isle. I'm awaiting my mate, then probably we shall spend a night." Storm was thouroghly exausted and in no mood to talk, however nice. She let her head fall onto the ridge.

"And who are you?" he continued, still in the gentle voice. "I can see you are thoroughly exhausted..."

"My name is Stormcloud. You may have seen my friends pass this way."

The peacock-wolf sighed.
"I do like to consider this platform my territory, but I guess since I'm a loner, it doesn't matter." he paused. "Want to rest in one of my caves?" he offered.

"Not till my mate has arrived."

"Oh, um... ok..." the wolf blinked. He had made the offer out of kindness, so he felt a little downcast. He walked slowly to one of the caves.

Storm felt a little guilty, but she scanned the lightening skies for Polaris. She knew she was fast but nervousness has crushing her chest. "Come on Polly." She muttered.

Polaris flew onto the ledge, exhausted.
"I got away," he panted, flopping down beside Stormcloud. "Are you ok?"

"Yes." She leapt forward and wolf-hugged him.

"Woah!" Polaris laughed and licked her head gently.
The wolf stepped foward again. "Umm..." he began. Polaris turned at once.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" he said in a threatening voice.

"Don't worry, Polly." She used his nickname. "This is my mate, Polaris." She told him. "You never told me your name"

"Oh... um..." the wolf paused before stepping forward. Polaris' eyes widened at his appearence, but said nothing for the moment.
"I am Pikokku no kagayaki, A-single-glowing-feather-in-time..." he broke off and paused. "I... I'll ask again, would you like to use one of my caves for the night?"

"Yes please." Stormcloud nodded. "I'm so sorry if you were offended." Storm stood.

"Oh, it's ok," Pikokku smiled. "I don't often get visitors, I guess." He stood in front of a smallish, sheltered cave. "Here," he smiled.
Polaris looked up at the darkening sky. "It's going to be cold tonight, I guess..." he muttered softly. "Thanks, Pikokku," he turned to the peacock coloured wolf and smiled. Pikokku grinned back. "No problem. I'll be in the cave in the corner if you need me."
With that, Pikokku padded off towards the cave he mentioned, ready to go to sleep for the night.

"come on." Storm chose one and waited for Polaris.

Polaris ran over to join her.
"Let's have a well-earned rest." he smiled, before padding into the cave and settling down.

Storm lay down next to him, and sighed.

Polaris put his head on his paws and went to sleep.

Storm fell asleep too after a moment.

Storm stirred. A seagull, nothing dangerous there. She leapt on it, biting it's neck. Her leg protested.
