The Rocky Ledge

Lynx sat on the lege, swishing her tail. It was time to go back to her clan.

Sunfire lay relaxing on the very edge of the ledge, her tail and back paws dangling into the water. Sunfire enjoyed the way the water rushed over them, covering them with its relaxing coolness. Her large green wings were spread out behind her, soaking up the sun. Sunfire was waiting until she was needed for a hunting party or patrol, though at the moment nobody seemed to need her for anything.

Silvermask skidded to a halt. She was the second-to-top supiror warrior.
"Sunfire! Report to the rockcaves. We have a situation!" She shouted as she ran towards the main clan.

Sunfire stood up immeadietly, water dripping from her tail and back paws. She shook them impatiently.
"Right!" She barked, before taking off from the ground at an unusually fast speed. She was excited. She hadn't had any action all morning and she wondered what this was all about. She flew onwards towards the Rockcaves.

Silvermask looked at her clan, settling gently against the rocks. This all seemed a big jumble of disaster, war after war. Wolf after wolf trying to start a war. Aready a stupid pup had taken the name 'Silver' and the Clans didn't seem to be clans anymore. Just a band of wolves trying so hard to make peace. Then someone would come and uproot that.

Taking a deep breath, Silvermask started to walk towards the lonerlands. Something compelled her to...

Sunfire and Taiyo landed on the Rocky ledge. Sunfire took a deep breath.
"It's so lovely..." she breathed. "The sun still shines on this ledge, as it did before I left to help with the Viral problem..."
Taiyo gave a small smile of agreement. Sunfire settled herself down on the ledge, as she had been before she left, one paw trailing lazily in the stream below, her wings spread out around her, letting the sun warm her fur. Taiyo curled up between her front paws and lay there, half asleep.
"We should be safe, here..." Sunfire murmered.

Silvermask landed gently. "I'll keep guard, just in case" she whispered, sitting and watcing the river below.

Taiyo looked at Silvermask curiously.
"You have shiny eyes," she remarked with a small smile. "What's your name?"

"Silvermask" she smiled, "What's yours?"
Silvermask looked at the sky. "I hae advanced sight, I can see far, and wide. I don't know why though, it happed when I was trapped..."

"That's really amazing..." Taiyo breathed. She smiled and dipped her head, for some reason avoiding Silvermask's other question. Sunfire answered for her. "This wolf is called Taiyo no sen ko no hoshi ni moeru."
Taiyo smiled. "Yeah... long name..." she muttered. She changed the subject. "Silvermask, are you Moonriver like Sunfire?"

"Yes" Silvermask shot Sunfire a grin, "If the clan was still together, I'm her supirior Warrior" She almost laughed, "Your name is nice you know. My name is really boring..."

Taiyo smiled. "I like your name. It's like... all silvery and pretty." Sunfire laughed at Taiyo's description. She began licking Taiyo's tailfeathers.
"You're really dirty, Taiyo," Sunfire remarked reproachfully. Taiyo gave a start. "Can you be careful when you wash my tail? It's really, really sensetive..."
Sunfire sighed. "Ok, ok. Just stop complaining. How did you get so dirty, anyway?"

Silvermask's eyes grew wide in fear. Like a broken connection.
"Shadow...Shadow is dead..." Her mouth hung open, "He was murderd by a tree..."

((ROFLMAOAMOS that sound really stupid))

((Lol "I'm sorry sister... this is the last time we'll ever talk... my life was ended... by a tree." 8D))

"...eh?" Sunfire raised a furry eyebrow. Taiyo looked shocked. "It was... Brook... who felled the tree..." her eyes glinted red. "I sense it. She's gone too far..."
Sunfire stood and ran to Silvermask. She wanted to try and console her, but she didn't know how to begin. Losing a sibling suddenly... and sensing it... Sunfire had never had a sibling, and her family had been long gone before she even knew them. She could only begin to imagine the pain that Silvermask could be feeling.

Silvermask's eyes lit up. "Back!" she growled, just as the forest lit up in flames.

Whether or not the command was directed at her, Sunfire leapt back, next to Taiyo.
"Silvermask..." she said, sadly.

"The fire!" Silvermask was looking directly at the river. "The fire started at the Lone Tree!"

"I have something to tell you guys!" Taiyo blurted out. "I... I..." Sunfire turned to her. "What is it?"

Silvermask gave Taiyo a quizzical look, "We should be safer in the river...."

Taiyo's face fell.
"Guys... I... I'm Brook's sister..." she muttered. Sunfire turned on her at once.
"WHAT did you say?" she demanded, her voice now brisk and sharp.
"WAIT!" cried Taiyo. "I don't agree with her ideals!" she continued. "I followed her here because I'm worried about what she will do to the Isle, though as a puppy I'm not as powerful as her..." her tail feathers rustled. "I don't know what to do to help her..."

Silvermask's shoulders rose.
"It's not her fault Sunfire. We do not choose who are siblings are"

Sunfire nodded.
"You're right." She picked up Taiyo by the scruff and put her down on her back.
"Save your energy, I'll fly you there," she said, gently. "We need to go to the lone tree, I think."
