The Rocky Ledge

Silvermask nodded, half wishing not too. She didn't really want to see her brother's broken body.

Sunfire took off with Taiyo curled up on her back, half-asleep. "Let's go," she encouraged Silvermask with a small smile.

"Alright" Silvermask was really starting to like Sunfire and Taiyo. She flew next to Sunfire, her body brushing against Sunfire's.
"Do you think we could be friends?"

Sunfire looked surprised. "Well, sure, Silvermask," she smiled. "You're strong, and you've got an awesome personality, and you're one of the kindest warriors I've met." Taiyo poked her nose out from behind Sunfire's wing and looked at Silvermask. "I want to be Silvermask's friend too!" she barked.
"Hey, Taiyo! Careful you don't fall off!" warned Sunfire. Taiyo's nose retreated behind Sunfire's wing again.

"Yeah, you can be my friend too Taiyo, I can teach you some relly cool stuff!" she turned back to Sunfire, "You've got an Awesome personality too, and your just plain amazing" silvermask grinned.

Taiyo's feathery phoenix-tail appeared this time from behind Sunfire's wing.
"Really?" she said, pleased. "That's so cool! I bet you have all kinds of awesome tricks!"
"Thanks." Sunfire smiled to Silvermask again before looking ahead. "I doubt it will be much more time before we reach the lone tree..."

"And we can work together to help bring back the clans maybe?" Silvermask's eyes flashed with Loss.

Sunfire nodded. "That would be perfect," she agreed.

((Now going to the lone tree~))

Sunfire landed and gently dropped Taiyo and Silverstorm onto the ledge.
"Taiyo," she instructed. "Guard Silverstorm. I have one last thing to do back at the lone tree before I come back to guard you." Taiyo nodded and placed herself protectively in front of Silverstorm.
"Stay safe, Sunfire," she smiled. Sunfire smiled back. "I will." she reassured, before taking off and heading back the way she came.

Sunfire landed again, exhausted. Taiyo ran over.
"Are you ok? Silverstorm doesn't seem to have moved..." she asked.
Sunfire looked up wearily. "I drained... Stormcloud's pain... now she can carry on..."
Taiyo looked into Sunfire's face. "Yeah but will you be ok?" she persisted.
"Yes... if you let me rest." she gave a small smile. "Could you stand guard over us for the time being?"
Taiyo nodded and stood in front of Sunfire and Silverstorm again.

A terrible feeling suddenly crept over Taiyo.
"Something is happening to Silverstorm. I bet sister is trying to hurt her..."
Taiyo rushed over and pressed her nose to Silverstorm's side.
"Sister... please... leave this wolf... she is important to me!" Taiyo silently half-whispered, half-prayed. "If the worst comes to the worst, you can even take me instead! But this puppy... leave her... please..." she begged.

Storm landed raggedly, and stumbled to Silverstorm.

"H-h-how is she? I-i-i got a message from Brook saying she was d-d-" Storms voice broke.

Silvermask landed. "She's playing game with you Storm"
Chessru stayed circling the sky. "I don't with Brook is our only problem..."

Taiyo looked up.
"I may be wrong, but I believe my sister is tormenting her..." she whispered. "Though no, not yet is she dead... Silverstorm means a lot to Sunfire... that's why I wish that my sister would spare her..."

"Silverstorm seams to have won everyone's heart" Silvermask scowled.
"Guys..." Chessru tried to get himself heard.

Taiyo turned.
"Silvermask is my friend. I want to protect her too." she gave a half-smile. "Anyone who is precious to you I want to protect, same goes to Sunfire." she paused. "This is why I want to save Silverstorm. For Sunfire... my friend."
Polaris flew down and landed, and immeadietly noticed Chessru.
"Guys, Chessru has something urgent to say," he remarked. Taiyo and Sunfire turned to look at Chessru.

Silvermask half-smiled, turning to look at the worrid Chessru.
"We've got Two-leg invaders!"

"Wha- I've heard some twoleg legends, but- no!" Storm shivered. She straightened.

"I can see them, with there long things that make loud noises!"

"I know what they are!"

It was as sudden as a shot of thunder, Silverstorm sat up. "They're called 'guns'."

Taiyo cried out in joy, disregarding the concerns of the others.
"Silverstorm!" she barked. Sunfire stirred and looked up to see Silverstorm. "Is... everything ok?" she muttered, still tired from Stormcloud's injuries. "Do I need to help... with something?"
Polaris nodded to the others.
"You guys, can you discuss the twolegs without me? I'll try and get Taiyo to contact his mother."

"I'm fine."

"Twolegs have guns. Guns have these bangs in them loud enough to kill a wolf. But the bangs are magic so they can only kill one wolf at a time."

Polaris raised an eyebrow. "That's clever," he remarked, before he turned to Taiyo.
"Taiyo," he began, but paused. Maybe it would be best to ask Taiyo about herself first?
"Taiyo, please could you tell us about your family, and how you and possibly Brook ended up in Dusk Isle?" Polaris sat down near the puppy, being careful to avoid sitting on her outspread phoenix-tail.
"Well, first let me just say I am not sure entirely how my sister came to be here..." started Taiyo. Polaris nodded to her to continue.

"There is a legend where I come from that once every fifty or so years, a pup is born with a feature of a phoenix. I guess Brook and I are an exception, though, since my mum had us a few summers apart; I am a pup and Brook is an adult..."
Polaris nodded. If the pups had been born at the same time, they would have obviously been the same.
"I had the tail of a phoenix; and my sister seems to have the wings," Taiyo said. An image of Brook's firey wings crossed Polaris' mind briefly. "My sister was really powerful, with fire and self-healing and more. But I couldn't control my air power, or my fire breathing, that well. As a result, the wolves in our clan were displeased. One of them, who had the power of welding, wanted to cut off my tail and attach it to his own pup, who was a very strong, healthy little dog with a talent for Earth power." Taiyo ran a paw lightly over her tail feathers. "My tail is very sensetive. Brook keeps her wings cloaked in fire. Her powers are enormous, so no one yet has even touched her wings. But if my tail is cut off, the pain may be so great that I would die. My mother told me to flee." Taiyo took a deep breath, as if recalling something that she had tried to forget. "So I fled to Dusk Isle."

Polaris looked Taiyo up and down. "Who is your mother? And what about your father?"
Taiyo looked down at her paws. "My mother was a winged wolf with the power of fire, as well as some mastery over a second air power. My father..." she paused. "My father I have never seen, though my mother has told me many times that he is a mighty phoenix who watches over the whole clan... Though Brook may know more about him than me, I'm not sure."

"We ask Brook we get killed." She grumbled. "Though I have been hearing her more often, I have a feeling she heard about my less then plesent past. Though we are correct- one of Taiyo's and Brooks parents is a pheonix."
