Bloody Sunlight ~ Sunlit's story [WorkInProgress]

I chose the first victim with the roll of the dice. I tracked him for days, watching the rebel camp with watchful eyes. They had one fault. They were organized, each wolf with a set routine. I knew the target would take the hunting path through the established border as the sun broke the moon's reign. He was on time, returning from the night watch with his head held high. He marched forwards like a fearless warrior, but his arrogance would be his fall. He did not see me perching in the bare branches of the lone tree. The first thing his proud eyes saw was the dust, rising up in a hazy cloud. I watched silently, betraying no emotion as the dust did its duty. The dust attacked his eyes, ears, mouth and nose, leaving no opening untaken. His expression told me all I needed to know - the dust had blocked his throat. A smile quirked at the corner of my mouth - who knew my power could kill so silently? I let my dusty wings drop me onto the earth, where his blood stained head now lay. I gave him the pleasure of seeing his killer, a smear of sunlight through his bloody eyes.
