In the Volcano

Silverstorm was hit by all-too familiar smells. She was determined to survive.

"Silver!" Silvermask reapeated. The Volcano was shaking now.

Silver saw a ridge of rock. She leapt up, her claws scraping, loosing hold, then managing to hold.

Taiyo was frozen to the spot with fear.
"Taiyo no sen ko no hoshi ni moeru." a voice echoed through her head.
"WHO?" she cried out in fear. "Who is here now?" she shook her head. "am I hearing things since I am so scared?"
"Taiyo, calm down," Sunfire licked the pup's head. But Taiyo wouldn't be calm.
"Taiyo... my daughter, Taiyo..."
Taiyo's eyes widened. "My dad... is here..." she muttered. "I can hear him..."

Silvermask's eyes lit up, "I'm going to have to change back now, I can't drain my energy..." She muttered, returning to the form of the black and silver wolf. The firey shield remained. The Volcano was shaking. "Silverstorm's gunna get fryed!"

Silverstorm clawed the rock. She couldn't get to up. The whole volcano was shaking so violently that she nearly lost her hold. She managed to keep it, but the vibrating was so bad Silver felt dizzy.

Taiyo's eyes lit up an eerie blue, much different from their normal amber or raging red.
"Strengthen the barrier to protect your friends, Taiyo." the voice echoed through her head. "Use my Sacred fires..."
Taiyo opened her mouth as if she wanted to speak. Instead, a huge blue fireball pushed its way out from between her jaws, as if someone was controlling her. The blue flames hit the fire shield and it began to glow.
"Taiyo... I must go to protect the tribe from this eruption..." the voice continued. "Though when this is over... do not return to your tribe. Wait in this cave, and send Sunfire, Silverstorm and Silvermask. Tell them this... Tell them to look for..."
"Look for what?" Taiyo spluttered, in between breathing out the blue fire. "WHAT?"
"...Moon... Tsuki. Now, my daughter, grab your little friend, for the eruption's time is near..." the echoes faded away, and Taiyo realised what her father had meant.
"Silverstorm!" she barked, flying after the pup and catching her scruff. "Come back to the tohers! The volcano is about to erupt!"

"I'll be fried!" Silver was so scared.

"We won't." Taiyo smiled. "My father is protecting us." her eyes flashed blue and little wisps of blue fire floated around her. She took hold of one of Silverstorm's paws.
"Do you trust me?" she asked.

"Yes." Silver agreed suddenly.

The volcano began shaking even more. Taiyo led the way back to the others and the fire shield of blue flames that burned brightly near them.

Silverstorm curled herself up tightly, absolutly terrified. she felt comforted by Taiyo.

Sunfire breathed a sigh of relief to see the pup. She picked Silverstorm up by the scruff and put her on her back. Taiyo stood in front of Sunfire, watching Silvermask.
"Silvermask," she said, "Please keep a look out and tell me when the volcano is going to erupt. We need to be ready."

Silverstorm buried into Sunfire's fur.

Silvermask nodded, and leapt herself against the wall.
"The larva is rising!"

The shield of blue flames circled around the four, making a ball shape all around them, protecting them inside. The lava began to flow up the passage. It rushed past the shield, but the wolves within were kept dry and safe.
Taiyo sighed. "We're going to be safe."

Silverstorm just grunted.

gonna die, gonna die, gonna die pulsed around her head.

Silvermask's eyes grew wide as the larva rushed passed them. "It's so pretty..."

"I can't see it" Silver quivered

"What? You can't see the larva?" Silvermask looked back at the larva. Maybe it was her advanced sight...
'Silver, I've just been back to Dusk Isle, Your mum's pregnant and Chessru's in trouble again...'
"Your really nosy aren't you Shadow? I can't do anything right now!"

"You missed the point" Silverstorm's head was buried in Sunfire's neck fur "I can't see it. Can you not see why? Grr. Joke-wrecker."

Sunfire gave a sigh and looked at the lava with Taiyo. Taiyo looked perfectly at home amongst the swirling orange river.
"I could probably survive outside the shield if I wanted to," she remarked. "Though now's not really the time and place to try it." she giggled.
"You're right, Silvermask..." Sunfire looked through the shield with wide eyes. "It's really pretty..."

Silverstorm stole a peek.

"Woah." She buried her face back into Sunfire.

"I wasn't paying attention to you Silverstorm" Silvermask muttered, slightly annoyed. "But It's hot" Silvermask shuffled uneasily. "We need to get moving..."

Silverstorm was uncomfortable. Irritable.

"Hmph." She grunted. "We're gonna die..." She said over and over again.
