Bottom of the valley

With a gasp, Collier appeared through a glowing portal, and was spat straight to the feet of a group of surprised wolves. They were all different colours with cheerful markings and vibrant wings.
"Collier?" one asked, poking her with his paw.
"Hey... guys..." Collier giggled sheepishly. "I'm back!"
Many wolves who had been going about their daily jobs in the valley all turned to look at her briefly, before carrying on when they made sure she was not an enemy.

Kasi fell through behind her, and landed with a thump.

Cout'av burst through the portal. Chessru and Featherkite spilled out either side.

Creekstone attempted to land slightly dignified, and failed horribly.

Cynder stepped through and landed lightly.

"Technology, my only asset!" She laughed. "Ahh, Winter country. I haven't been here in years."

"And where is here, may I ask?" Creekstone pushed himself up.

"Winter Country is beyond Ash Peaks. It's Kaiti's realm." She explained. "The birdsong shrine is somewhere in that-" she waved a tail up the valley "-direction."

"So where are we going again?" he asked.

"Birdsong shrine." Featherkite answered the question trotting in the direction Cynder had pointed. Chessru was too busy looking around to notice.

"Halt," cried Collier, getting to her feet awkwardly and pushing her felt hat up with one paw. She and several other valley wolves padded to Cynder's little company. She tried her best to look threatening, but altough the other wolves did a good job in this area, Collier just looked a little silly.
"Who are you guys, and what are you doing in our valley?" she attempted to growl, but her curious tones could not be hidden. She was genuinely curious to find out how all of these wolves had followed her in, and was not used to being hostile as they rarely had intruders. She recieved a sharp nudge from one of the other wolves.
"You don't address your enemies as 'you guys', dungface!" she was scolded, and she apologised sheepishly to the owner of the voice before trying her best to glare menacingly at the group.

Creekstone rolled his eyes and gazed at her with contempt and a hint of irritation in his eyes.

"We are going to see...uh...Kaiti." Chessru half-lied. Featherkite just ignored them all, looking at the floor.

Kasi walked around the side of the groups, walking through the middle.
"What is this place?!"

"We've got some unfinished business with her." Cynder explained, flicking her tail at Chessru and Creek in a thanks-but-I-can-handle-this gesture. "We really need to find her, and I've just headed over here to speak with her. After we have, we'll go on our way."

"Oh, and Cynder's an original too!" Featherkite burst out unhelpfully.

"Featherkite!" Cynder snapped. "Sorry, she talks before she thinks."

"What's wrong with that?" Featherkite retorted defensively..

A ripple of whispers went up from the surrounding wolves.
"If you are referring to the great Kyoku," put forward a large grey wolf, "She has only just returned and has requested specifically that no visits be paid to her, even for prayer, until she is rested."
"Yeah, like we would ever tell the location of her place to a bunch of strangers," added Collier, stubbornly, folding her wings determinedly.
"I suggest you leave," continued the grey wolf. "We are unsure of what an 'original' is, but if you disturb our loved one, you will be torn apart by us. All of our enemies are usually swiftly dealt with."

Collier turned to Kasi as the grey wolf spoke.
"Hey, Kasi, there may be fighting or something," she started sheepishly. "Do you wanna hide or something?"

"Your loved one has one of our...friends." Featherkite said, using the word friend reluctantly, "Your loved one's mate will kill her."
Chessru flicked his tail as a sign for his daughter to silence.

"I'm okay. I can help." Kasi blinked.

"On top of that," Cynder added, "The friend can prevent the destruction of our realm."

"...And you don't want to pick a fight with us." Chessru added.

"Chessru." Cynder sighed. "Again, ignore my peers. They're anxious to get our plan into action."

The wolves growled softly
"Why should we care about your realm?" the grey wolf spoke up. "You have the nerve to barge sraight into our valley where we are going about our lives peacefully-"
"And getting eady to welcome back our beloved," added another, defiantly. "And you come in here from the realm that banished her just to rescue some friend of yours?"

Collier grinned. "Hey Kasi you're pretty dang brave," she remarked. "I get scared of fighting. We Winter wolves hate fighting." she sighed and glanced over the wall of grey and brown fur of the main speakers.

"We killed all our enemies sweeps ago. We are a pacifist race."

Chessru gave a defiant hiss. Featherkite unfolded her wings to make her size bigger.

Daybreak landed between the two factions, folding away his wings upon his back. He took one look at Cynder and then turned to the unfamiliar faces.
"You must be the valley wolves," Daybreak addressed them, "You're dear Kaiti sent me to kill the intruders." He dipped his head, before whirling on the others. He threw Chessru a look of disappointment, and then his ear twitched.
"Who's first?"

Cout'av stepped out from behind Chessru. He exchanged a quick glance at Cynder, and then turned to Daybreak, but said nothing.

"Valley wolves, don't listen to him." Cynder said, backing up slightly. "He is the one that will tear our world apart. If he succeeds, your world may be torn apart too. Do you understand me?"
