The Ominous Plateau

"Damn you Apose!" Another figure seemed to be half stood, reflected in the pool Neon was using to project an image, "If she's pathetic, then so's Cynder and Kohaku!"
"That's enough...Sunlit!" Neon growled, and the figure moved out of view.
"Apose...we created this world together. You...you can't save it alone..."

"But i don't want to save the world," said Apose in an icy voice. "I want to save the ground. I don't care nothing about the wolves on it."
She laughed madly.
"If you can make me a bargain, then I might help you out. What would be in it for me saving you, huh?"
She paused.
"And you'd better offer fast."
The blue flames licked closer to the edge of the solitary pool; when they hit it, it would evaporate within minutes.

Neon of course, was the original responsible for time and life.
"Alright. I know you made a bargin with...Chessru. Well...if I can be saved from this madness, I can claim back the timeless realm" She paused, "and change time so that everything happens how, you want it. Daybreak can be locked away, and, you can have your ground so perfect"

"O-oh, that is actually quite a decent offer." Apose smirked and the flames fizzled out immediatly.
"You'll have to come here in person for me to help you and to seal the bargain, though. What is your current location? I'll open a portal."

"Sunwood West Hunting Area" Neon replied sharply, "although there's someone else here who seems to be keen to stalk me" Neon added.

"That's fine." Apose laughed. "If they set foot on here, they will be charred by my flames and killed."
A glowing blue portal opened in front of her, made of huge, flickering flames. Taiyo watched from her fliery prison, wide-eyed and terrified.

Neon stumbled through. Sunlit's appeared in the doorway. She didn't enter though.

Apose laughed at Sunlit coldly before closing the portal on her.
"Sorry Sunlit; you're not coming here."
She turned to face Neon. She suddenly flicked her tail, and blue flames alighted on Neon's left ear. They burned for a few seconds, before vanishing, leaving behind a gold earstud tightly attached to Neon's ear.
"That's a mark of our contract." smirked Apose. "Break it, and the stud allows me to cause you pain. Now, let's see..."

Taiyo watched in terified fascination as shadows poured from the tips of Apose's claws onto the surface of the plateau. The shadows swirled over to Neon like living creatures and seemed to go into her body.

"They devour insanity and its causes," Apose remarked. "But you will be in great pain as they cure you."

"I've dealt with pain before" Neon said simply, ignoring Taiyo.

The shadows inside Neon began devouring Daybreak's effects. Blood began welling in Neon's throat.
Apose watched to see her reaction, a smug smile on her face, in the knowledge Neon would get the tough end of the bargain.
Taiyo covered her eyes with her tail feathers, not wanting to see more.

Neon's tail began to swing round viscously in the attempt to not reveal any of the pain her physical self was in.

The pain began to escalate as the insanity was being destroyed.

Neon's tail spun faster.

"You have to admit, you aren't as strong as you used to be" Neon spoke through gritted teeth.

Neon hadn't switched off her link. Tsuki's frantic calling of Taiyo's name drifted through.

Tsuki's voice grew stronger. His face was visible attempting to get through to the Plateau.

Apose laughed harshly. "I admit nothing." she told the wolf, as the last of the insanity vanished. "You are under my control. You are free to do as you please until you are needed." she paused before hissing. "NOW GET OUT OF MY SIGHT."
She looked at Tsuki's face. "It would be amusing to see what Tsuki does with Taiyo," she muttered to herself, picking up the cowering phoenix puppy and throwing her aimlessly into the portal leading to Tsuki. She sat back and watched to see what would happen.

Neon blinked and dipped her head.
"What shall I do to time?"

"For now, just go back to your realm. When war breaks out, you might be required to kill off a large number of wolves using time manipulation." she informed her, before settling down on the platform.

Neon vanished.
