The Ominous Plateau

"Once a wolf is in there it is me who chooses when they leave." Apose shook her head. "Until the fight is over, I'm not letting you leave."

"Awww." Kohaku snarled. "I'm bored. I AM only a pup after all, abiet an ancient one."

A small blue flame appeared and started moving towards Kohaku.
"Fine. Training excersise." Apose said, amused. "Your challenge is to escape from it. If it touches you, it wll burn you pretty badly."

Kohaku looked at the flame.
Dodge. Don't run, It'll get you. He thought.

The flame began moving faster and faster towards the pup.

Kohaku felt an odd sense of exiliration, fear, and most of all adreniline as the flame came closer. Apose's words flickered in her head - If it touches you, it wll burn you pretty badly. She smiled, dodging aside at the last second.

The flame split into two now. One flame came at Kohaku from the front, and one from the back.

Kohaku leapt to the side, between the flames.

"Well done." Apose raised an eyebrow. One again the flames split. There were four.
"This time, you'll have to fight at least one while evading the others."

"Fight? How!"

"Your power is to travel between realms using puddles. That alone is not enough to survive against your attackers."
Apose took a deep breath before blowing a stream of shadows around Kohaku. They entered his body.
"Use the power of shadows to drive off the flames. The flames' power each equal that of a grown wolf."

Kohaku smiled, creating a Shadow wolf and driving it at the first, keeping an eye on the other three.

Swift fell onto the Plateau.

"Oof!"

The three other flames also vanished.
"You did well, Kohaku. You can take care of yourself better against the other original ones. Before I let you go, attack me. Try to combine your space powers with your shadow powers. You should be able to teleport me to a different place, at least, and at the most it should cause grevious bodily harm."
Apose turned to Swift. "Your friend is fine, by the way. Time is trying to destroy the lock on her powers and it will hurt for a few hours, though after that it should stop."

"Can you send me back to tell her?!" Swift asked.

"Well..." Kohaku gave her a moment to answer to decide what to do. She thought... Could she make a shadow portal? And spikes for pain? That sounded good.

A shadow portal ripped open and sucked Swift through it, back to the shore of the timeless world.

Kohaku took a breath and opened the Shadow Portal, making sure there were spikes inside the portal. She took a grin and began to suck Apose in

Apose let herself be sucked in. She felt pain as the spikes dug into her. Before any bad damage could be done, she reappeared outside of the portal, and using her own shadows, made it vanish.
"In my real, I can do that, but outside, it would be easy to kill someone like that." Apose nodded. "Go to the volcano. You can join the fight, Haku."
A portal ripped open beside the puppy.

Kohaku nodded. "Thankyou, Apose." She leapt in, flicking her tail in a final thanks.

Apose yawned.
"The danger is past." she muttered, before curling up within a sheet of blue flames. She fell asleep, the flames creating a barrier around her.

Apose... Apose. Daybreak is attempting to kill the four... Echoed Cynder's voice.

For the first time in months, the plateau lit up with flames. They roared, they burned, they hissed and they spat. In the center whirled a ball of darknes, and admist that shone green eyes of pure hatred.
I can see again. It will only be a matter of time before I can do many other things. But by then, will it be to late? Will Daybreak already have destroyed the balance?
There was a long period of silence.
I sense two puppies about to be born into the world. I will give them a prophecy to help them hold back the threat for now.
The flames flickered harder, bigger, more ferociously than before. The ball of shadows grew a little larger. The eyes stared out into the pitch black of space around the plateau, beyond the flames.
Here is the new prophecy. Listen well, Dusk Isle. When two are born with glowng runes, it signs danger will come soon. Wolves will die in the dead of night, murdered instead of dying from fights. Ice will come and forests will freeze but these two wolves must help to bring the threat to its knees. Seeking wisdom from many other wolves, hope lies in the wolves with eyes like glowing pools.

Blue flames danced and ripped accross the plateau in sheer anger. A bright blue ball of flames formed at its centre. From it stepped a shape whose markings glowed with may colours.
"THERE ARE TWO IN THE WORLD NOW WHO SHOULD NOT BE HERE!" she roared. Her eyes fell on the plateau's shiny surface.

"Sister... what have you done? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? TRAITOR!"

Her last word rung out around the blackness like a neverending echo piercing the night.

There was a flash. A tiny orange wolf, trapped forever as a teenaged puppy was dragged into the flames, her copper-green eyes shining golden with fear. Instead of a tail she had a mass of orange phoenix feathers; it was Taiyo, daughter of the volcano entity.

"What is this?" Taiyo cried, struggling to her paws. There wa a crash as something fastened itself around one; a shackle. A shackle which held her to the plateau. She tugged at her ankle, trying in vain to remove it, terror welling up in her heart.

"It's hopeless, young one." rung out the all-to-familiar voice of the Apocalypse.
"You are my hostage; my ticket to prevent the world from falling at the hands of Brook."
"What do you mean?" cried Taiyo, ceasing struggling and lying panting on the surface of the plateau, blue flames crackling in a ring around her.
"Your sister... has gone mad. You... shall stop her."

"Apocalypse..." A voice called out, standing on the far side of the plateau. It had dark fur, and neon green markings that seemed to glow in the dark, "...My Physical body is going mad, Apose..." The figure stumbled forwards, clearly only a projection from the world, "I cannot function. Daybreak has planted something within me...we're all going mad..." The figure stopped, panting for breath, "I...I cannot resist the madness..."

Apose laughed cruelly.
"You think I would help you? You're a pathetic excuse for an original if you can't hold your own against another. I don't care if you fall into insanity, and if you cause trouble, I can either kill or imprison you. Get your sullied spirit away from the plateau-"
Blue flames lept towards Neon's projection.
"-Or I'll get you now."

Taiyo glanced at the new arrival with wide, scared copper eyes. Another original.
