The Clearing

Creekstone looked around. "Did you hear that voice?"

Kohaku tipped her head.

"I'm right here!" She said, unhappily.

"No, no, no, I mean... another voice." He looked around. "Kind of deep and accented?"
He heard the voice laugh. "Yours will be like that soon enough."

Neon pricked her ears.
"Would you like to sleep or get on with it?"

Creekstone whirled around desperately, trying to find the voice and ignoring the others. "Who's there?" he whispered.

Neon flickered her ears.
"If anyone there, show yourself. I can easily remove you from time!" She snapped.

Another laugh, and this time everyone could hear the voice. "You needn't know me." Creekstone looked around, before the voice added, "The same for you, Creekstone."

Neon's eyes flickered angrily.
I am the Shadow of Time

Creekstone turned slightly and saw something flicker behind him. He whirled around, but it had gone.
"Paitence, Neon," said the voice, calming but clearly hiding a laugh.

Oh, boo hoo, you can travel through time, yada yada. Kohaku's voice echoed. I know how Cynder got her robot parts. Its a good story.

"Do tell me later." Again Creekstone saw a flicker, but it held longer. It was a wolf who was the spitting image of the pup, except for brown eyes. It dissapeared after a moment.

Wanna here? Kohaku said, laying out on her back against a tree, and making sure only Creekstone could here. But I warn you - it isn't pleasent.

Creekstone turned, his mind half on the spirit leaning on the tree. "S-sure?"

Shh! Mind thoughts Kohaku shushed. Then she started her story.

Cynder is one of the First Wolves, like I was. She fell in love with a dark pelted wolf called Sonne. She did love him. He had these bright green eyes and she was hypnotised from her first look. And so did he, believe it or not. They were the perfect wolves enjoying a young romance. And I mean young. Cynder wasn't really full grown and neither was Sonne. But, soon, Sonne wanted what Cynder wasn't ready for- a litter. Or more, mating, to put it in laymans terms. Cynder denied him a litter and it seemed he was happy to wait. But, one stormy night, Sonne asked again and Cynder denied. His eyes grew dark and she realised, who she was mates was, in fact, what humans would call a devil. He was the 'Devil'. And his eyes turned red and he was sent in a vicious rage. She was cut down by his claws and bit, and raped. It was lucky she wasn't sexually mature or she would have had pups. Or that is what is believed. But I don't believe it.

She was found by Sonne under a tree, and he rushed to help her. When she hit him, he was confused. Half of him was normal wolf. Cynder was later found mating willfully with him. The 'rape' happened more and more and more- until one day, she was knocked down- and she'd had enough of Sonne's ways. She raced off, up into the mountains, where a buzz-hum enticed her into a cave.

In the cave, she raced across the most dangerous obsticles. You see, the buzz-hum had her in a trance. She leapt over canyons, climbed along thin rocks- until she came upon a small crystal dish full of purple liquid. A voice echoed in her head- "Drink it, and I'll get rid of Sonne. Drink it." And because she was so sick of Sonne's ways, she drank it. And what a drink! It tasted so sweet, a tang, fizz to it, it was impossible to describe! But she was pushed away after half of it. "Come back in a week if you are truely loyal." And just because of Sonne she came in a week and drank the last of it. And as she licked the last of the liquid from the bowl, everything went black. She was excrutiating pain- and she woke up bleeding, with these parts in her. The voice said- "You are loyal. The pain will fade" But Sonne is still here- as a wolf named Chao. Kohaku, happy with her tale, lay back.

((I believe this is the longest post in DH history XD. It's also the backstory promised on DA BTW))

Creekstone was stunned for a little while. The spirit spoke again.
"An interesting tale, if I may."

(Jezus ala mode, that was long XD)

It happened. She's terrified 'Sonne', who is currently under the alias 'Chao', will come for her. He nearly killed a small white wolf called Umi, who made a pact with Chao to look after him, and in return he would heal her. She licked her paw

Creekstone looked at the visible wolf and said weakly, "That's a sad story."

"I plan to find Chao and kill him. Send him to the underworld. And I wanna do it with my own fangs." Kohaku spat.

Keep your paitience, my dear dead wolf, said the spirit, flickering again. Don't forget, you are in the underworld, as much as I am.

Kohaku stood. "Ready for challenge?"

Creekstone shrugged. "I s'pose..."

"You don't sound too pleased." Kohaku noted.

Not too easy to be pleased when a voice is haunting you, he thought sadly. But he looked at her and replied, "Just tired."
