The Resting Place

"What are you doing with our sister?" shouted one wolf. This wolf was black, with a white underbelly and ginger tabby stripes. Wings of warm ginger spice colours. Another wolf stood next to him. This wolf was a deep indigo, with a black patch over its face, and covered in tiny black markings that looked like petals. Wings of the darkest black night.
There was also a third standing in some shadows, white, legs covered with orange and turquoise speckles, with blue wings. Three wolves, slender and more beautiful than the usual Dusk wolf.

They were in trouble.

A huge black wolf snatched up the white wolf, and help her, trembling, between his jaws.
"You've used your powers to make us ill, starving, and disliked. We wanted to return a little something to you. Your mother is dead. Now your sister will be too." the first two winged wolves stared in distress as the hulking black, wingless human wolf tore their sister Yuki apart. "That is the end of Messanger-of-happiness." he gave a blood-covered teeth grin. "When we kill Bringer-of-plenty and Defender-of-life, we will have won, and we will have enough energy again to take over this forest for our own."
The two winged wolves glanced at eachother.
"We must fight." the indigo one addressed his black and orange brother, who nodded. The indigo wolf pulled a silver knife from a holder tied around his neck, and held the handle in his jaws. The orange and black wolf had a gold knife. They plunged forward, ready to face their attacker.

Blood and bones littered the grass of the restng place. The two slender winged wolves sat next to their sister, their muzzles pressed into her fur. She was dead, but so were her killers. She had been avenged.

"You have killed". a voice ran out through the air. "You have killed those who killed your sister. I know your cause was just, but as you are the children of the great Inari, Gate-of-life, whose family is sworn never to take a life, must suffer the curse."
"It is the goddess." mumbled one. "We promised her that we would never kill..."
"Once the curse is over, you can kill all you like." the voice said, harshly, angered by the wolves. "But the curse states that in this event, you will sleep for the next three centuries. I understand that you are ony apprentice-age, though this is your own fault. You will loose everything but the memory of your sister and your names."
The wolves felt themselves vanishing. Their sister was left behind, her dead body to wither away to nothing now she was gone.

A pair of amber eyes opened wide. Two wolves had appeared, seemingly from thin air. Lying bewildered in front of a tree.

Yugure flicked his tail, his eyes flickering.

"Well, that was a long three centuries." He murmured.

Yoake opened his amber eyes, and stood up.
"It's over?" he murmered, softly. "We're alive?"

Yugure nodded.

"It appears so." He licked his lips. The taste of salt, rust and dirt clung to them. "What now, Yoake?"

Yoake sighed. "I do not know. Times have changed. What if the three packs, Sunwood, Moonriver and Starcliff no longer exist?"

"But they do" There was a voice from the side of a rock, and a dark black she-wolf with silver wings stepped out.

"Which is closest? My memory has been somewhat worn. I think it's Moonriver?"

"We'll try there." Yoake nodded, and took off on his elegant wings.

Yugure followed, flicking his bushy tail.

Silvermask shot into the sky after.
"Moonriver is my clan" she muttered.
She flew ahead into their path.

Yoake stopped.
"Who are you?" he asked, immeadietly on his guard. The two wolves were still only 2 and a half-summer old apprentices. They had not chnged since the curse took place. Silvermask was slightly bigger than they were as a result, though this did not seem to phase Yoake.

"You come from past, don't you? We've had a wolf like that before. You go to Moonriver, then thats my clan. The three clans still exsist. Although Starcliff has collpased and Sunwood is under Moonriver bloodlines" Silvermask stopped herself.
Why was she saying all this?

Yoake blinked.
"Well technically we do come from the past..." he muttered. "Wait, how do you know?" he asked, suspiciously.

"I listened" Silvermask put in, "And well, one wolf did say there would be more oneday. Sunlit. She was responsible for making the third clan. Sunwood and Starcliff was once joined"

"Sunlit was the alpha of Sunwood when we were born," remembered Yoake.

"And she was when I was. Until she attemopted to travel back in time. It killed her" Silvermask added

Yoake nodded.
"I must follow my brother," he said, looking past Silvermask towards Moonriver. He began to fly off.

"And I must go to my clan" Silvermask replied to herself, but she knew she had to do something first. She swopped down back to the lakeside.

Unoki stopped, and sniffed the air.

Habano trotted after her, looking around. "Smells a little funny, don't you think?"

"I think dead wolves are buried here." Unoki mumbled.

"Eeshk." He tucked his wings more closely to his sides. "I wonder why they didn't come alive."

"Perhaps Dad decided who would live and who would stay dead." Unoki whispered. K'Yaku looked intrigued.

"But why? Wouldn't he want everyone he could get?" he thought aloud.
