The Clan Den

"Yes?" Drappa asked.

"We are no longer safe. The ice has been broken" Silvermask closed her eyes, apin rippling arcoss her face.

"What is the ice?" Drappa asked, nervousness stirring in his stomach

"The protection field" Silvermask sighed.

Drappa gave her a dry look.

"Sorry, I am VERY new to all this, so explain further."

"The world is in danger..." She stopped suddenly as there was a white flash.
"Daybreak!" Silvermask cowered, her back arching.
The black wolf took a step forwards just as Silvermask writered in pain.

Drappa leapt up defensivly, unaware of the danger. He swore

"It is time" Daybreak muttered calmly as Silvermask took a deep breath.
"The pups are coming!" She spat, "Daybreak this is too early!"

Drappa took a defensive step. "I don't know who you are, but back off!" He snarled. "You have no place at these pup's birth!"

"No Drappa!" Silvermask took a heavy breath, "He's one of the firsts - he designed us, he'll kill you!"

Taron flicked his eyes open. He leapt up, Swiftwing falling against the dirt, whimpering as her warmth dissappeared. Taron leapt at Daybreak...

"No!" Drappa leapt forward, but missed Taron.

Daybreak growled, a ripped off Taron's head in a swift movement.
"Taron - always a weakling" He snarled.

Silvermask's eyes grew wide with shock. "The first pup!" She howled in pain, rolling over sharply.

Drappa advanced. "Leave." He said again, snarling. "You've done enough."

"NOO!" Swift cried, tears flowing over her face. She stood over Taron's body for a moment, before flopping onto it, getting covered in blood.

Daybreak folded his wings.
"Do not tell me what to do" But she vanished, into the shadows.

Silvermask rolled in pain.

Drappa turned. He had no experiance in births.

"Stay still- that can't be helping." He guessed

Silver yowled - and something brown was visable

Drappa transferred it to Silver's side. If there was one thing he knew, Silver had a few minutes till the next birth. He ripped up some moss, soaked it with water and brought it back for Silver to have a drink.

Silver licked it gently. Before grimaching in pain, unaware of the moss.
"How many?" Silver gasped.

He shook his head. "It's too hard to tell, but there appears to be more on the way."

Silver took a sharp breath. More orange fur.

Drappa did the same, transferring it next to its squirming sibling. He touched the moss. "Drink."

Silver obayed. She seamed to calm, as if she was finished. It seemed so.

Drappa pressed his paw against Silver. "More." he whispered.

Silver shrugged, taking a deep breath. She turned to like her pups.

The first was extremly small, the 'runt' so to speak. he opened his eyes. There were two things. The first was the colouration. Purple. The second- milky. The pup was blind.
